I kid you not. Almost 300 volunteers turned out for our little volunteer day today! Seriously? Yeah, seriously. I hope that all of the volunteers read these words: THANK YOU! We are sincerely grateful for your willingness to serve Frankfort.

So much was accomplished! Here is a list of the projects tackled by Go Frankfort Volunteers today:

SIMON House - Organized storage rooms and helped decorate for Christmas and prepare for an open house.
Kings Center - Applied a primer coat to railing and the metal roof. (Paint will go on soon! Let us know if you'd like to help!)
Access Shelter and Soup Kitchen - Drywall installed and ceiling tiles repaired.
Council on Family Abuse - Painting and cleaning at the Safe House.
Bellepointe Community Garden (pictured) - Garden winterized.
Frankfort High School Garden - Hoop house closer to completion, garden winterized.
Rye's Community Garden - Arbor constructed and cleanup.
LIFE House for Animals - Mulch spread and animals cared for (and at least one volunteer adopted a pup!).
Franklin County Humane Society - Kennels cleaned, bedding washed and animals walked.
Adopt-A-Highway - 2-mile strech on Highway 127 South cleaned up.
Thomas Carer Barnes, IV Memorial T-Ball Fields - maintenance to fields and statue.
Greenhill Cemetery - Fencerow cleared by LOTS of volunteers!
Franklin County Emergency Food Pantry - Collection of non-parishable food for donation.

These twelve projects are what we had planned, but when our volunteers finished their projects they began picking up trash in the area of their project or raking leaves. They definitely left their mark! Thanks for going with us! Go Frank
